Information We Collect

Task Matrix requests the following permissions from your Google account:

Tasks and Lists Management

  • Create, edit, organize, and delete all your tasks - We need this to help you organize your tasks in the Eisenhower Matrix
  • Edit and organize your lists, tasks and their details - Required to move tasks between quadrants and update their status
  • Delete your lists, tasks and their details - Only used if you choose to delete tasks through our interface

Profile Information

  • Your full name - Displayed in the dashboard header
  • Your profile picture - Not currently used but may be displayed in future versions
  • Your primary Google Account email address - Used for session identification
  • Your gender and preferred languages - Not actively used but may be available through Google's API

How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to:

  • Display your Google Tasks in the Eisenhower Matrix interface
  • Allow you to organize and prioritize your tasks by dragging them between quadrants
  • Update task completion status when you mark tasks as done
  • Save your matrix organization preferences locally in your browser
  • Display your name in the dashboard for a personalized experience

Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not share, sell, rent, or transfer your Google user data to any third parties.

Your data is only used to provide the core functionality of Task Matrix and remains between you, Google, and our application. Specifically:

  • We do not sell or rent your personal information to advertisers or other third parties
  • We do not share your tasks, task lists, or any task content with third parties
  • We do not share your profile information (name, email, etc.) with third parties
  • We do not use your data for advertising purposes
  • We do not disclose your data except as required by law

Data Storage and Security

Task Matrix does not store your personal data on our servers. All data remains with Google, and we only access it temporarily during your session to display it in our interface.

Important: Your tasks may contain sensitive information, such as things you plan to purchase or notes from private conversations. We do not store this information on our servers.

Data Protection Mechanisms

We implement the following security measures to protect your sensitive data:

  • HTTPS Encryption: All communication between your browser and our servers uses industry-standard TLS/SSL encryption
  • Secure OAuth 2.0: We use Google's OAuth 2.0 protocol to authenticate users, which means we never see or store your Google password
  • Session Security: User sessions are securely managed with encrypted session tokens that expire after a period of inactivity
  • No Data Storage: We do not store your tasks, task lists, or sensitive information on our servers. Data is only accessed in real-time from Google's servers during your active session
  • Minimal Data Access: We only request the minimum permissions necessary to provide the Eisenhower Matrix functionality
  • No Logging of Sensitive Data: We do not log task contents, personal information, or any sensitive user data in our system logs
  • Secure Token Storage: OAuth access tokens are stored securely in encrypted session storage and are automatically invalidated when you log out

Google OAuth Permissions

By signing in with Google, you grant Task Matrix permission to:

  • Read, create, edit, and delete your Google Tasks and task lists
  • View your basic profile information (name, email, profile picture)
  • Associate your Google account with your Task Matrix session

You can revoke these permissions at any time through your Google Account settings.

Third-Party Services

Task Matrix integrates with Google Tasks API. Your use of this service is also subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

Your Rights

You can revoke access to your Google account at any time through your Google Account settings. You can also clear all locally stored data by clearing your browser's local storage.
